Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
Can I be put to sleep during the visit?
We use “Laughing Gas” (Nitrous Oxide) if needed. Inhaling this puts you partially to sleep. It helps you relax and relieves pain during dental procedures. It’s not usually covered by insurance, so it will be an out-of-pocket cost for the patient. If you’re interested, please speak with your oral health team at your visit.
We do not put patients fully to sleep. If that is required for a treatment, we will refer you to a practice with this service.

Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
Can I come to Health Partners to be seen if my regular family doctor is unavailable?

-
Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
Can you fill my medicine even if it’s from a special provider?

Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
Dental sealants: what are they and do I need them?
Sealants are a simple and painless way to protect your teeth. Fluoride in toothpaste and drinking water help your teeth stay strong, but back teeth need more help. First, the thin, plastic coating is painted on your back teeth. In a few seconds, it hardens. It works like a shield for your teeth and lasts about 10 years. Sealants can start being placed in 6 year old molars. Teenagers and young adults may also need sealants. Sealants save time and money since you are less likely to need special care later.

Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
Tooth decay: what causes it and how can I prevent it?
Germs in the mouth use the sugar in food to make acids. Over time, the acids can make little holes in the tooth. Back teeth are more likely to decay because they have lots of pits and grooves for germs to hide.
Fluoride can help. If your drinking water doesn’t have fluoride in it (about ⅔ of the US does) we can give you a supplement. Regular brushing with fluoride toothpaste, combined with sealants, is the best way to prevent almost all tooth decay.

Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)
What is SBIRT and why do I need it?
SBIRT stands for Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment. It’s a smart, science based way to help find people who need help. We screen every patient because it makes sense. The sooner we can find a problem, the sooner we can help you feel better. This helps lower health care costs, too.
